EDUCATION

Dr. Rey Romero MS, FACS, SNI performed; his degree at the Faculty of Medicine of the UNAM, in Mexico City, being part of the NUCE Group (Nucleus of Educational Quality) and gaining recognition for the 3 best averages. He later completed his general surgery specialty at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Monterrey Nl, Mexico. Finally he realized; 3 subspecialty courses, a Proctorship in Advanced Laparoscopy, at Texas Endosurgery Institute, San Antonio, Tx, United States; another Proctorship in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at the Bariatric Specialties Center in Monterrey, NL, Mexico; and finally a fellowship in Bariatric Surgery, Upper Digestive Tracts and Robotics at Baptist Health South Florida, Miami, Fl, United States.

EXPERIENCE

Dr. Rey FACS, SNI has performed more than 2,000 laparoscopic procedures, is a general and gastrointestinal surgeon with major interest in obesity and metabolic surgery, minimally invasive surgery (scarless surgery), surgical treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and robotic surgery. Currently Dr. Rey performs around 40 surgical procedures per month.

RESEARCH, PRESENTATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS

Dr. Rey has given numerous presentations at national and international conferences, and has received several awards and recognitions. He is currently appointed as MASTER SURGEON in bariatric and Metabolic surgery. He has published more than 30 scientific research articles on obesity surgery, diabetes surgery and gastrointestinal surgery. See posts.
