STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO BARIATRIC SURGERY AT OBESITY HEATLH
It is very important that you read and follow these steps to ensure a successful procedure in order to achieve your goal. This is just the beginning of your brand new healthy life.
1.- Determine if you are a candidate for the bariatric procedure.Filling the Medical Record Form

2.- Learn more about the Procedure(s)
We suggest reading about the procedure(s) you are interested in or the ones we suggested you before, so you can learn all about their benefits and limitations.

At this point you are now familiar with your bariatric surgery at Obesity Health. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions .Our Patients’ Coordinator will be there for you at any time.
3.- Schedule your Surgery and Make your Down Payment.
You will be informed about the available dates for scheduling your surgery. Then, you will be required to make a US$500.00 down payment is required in order to schedule your surgery. You can pay the rest after the surgery procedure.

Once your surgery is scheduled, our dietician will contact you and send you the pre-operative diet plan, which you will have to stick to from 3 to 10 days according to the dietician indications.
4.- Program Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive to the Cancun International Airport. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hospital. There, we will run your preoperative analysis and both medical and psychological evaluations. If you prefer, you may bring your pre-op tests from home but make sure they are less than 2 months old. After this, we will take you to the hotel.
The blood studies and tests necessary are as follows:
- Complete blood count
- Chemistry panel
- Hemostasis (PT, PTT, INR)
- Thyroid function test
- Lipid panel
- Liver function test
- Chest radiography
In some cases, additional studies might be required in advance such as Glycosylated Hemoglobin, Esophageal Manometry, Upper Endoscopy, Esophageal pH test, the Doppler Ultrasound, an Abdominal Ultrasound, among others. These must be run, at least, one week before the surgery and need to be sent to our Obesity Health’s facility or to the following e-mail address:firstname.lastname@example.org to inform our specialists by phone.
Day 2: The Day of the Surgery.
We will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the hospital and perform the surgery. You will be able to drink 24 hours after your surgery.
Day 3: Hospital Stay
We will evaluate your post-operative state and your liquid tolerance.
Day 4: Hospital Discharge
You will be discharged from the hospital and we will take you back to the hotel.
Day 5: Removing the Drain and Returning Home
We will visit you to your hotel and remove the drain. This procedure lasts about a minute. It is very simple, fast, and pain free. You will be ready to go back home. Then, we will take you to the airport or if you prefer, you can stay more days in Cancun and enjoy this international tourist destination.
